Bacteria Fur Farm
Michael, Grade Four
My question is : "Where does bacteria grow fastest?" I am interested in this topic because I wonder where the healthiest environment exists. I predict the healthiest environment exists in the cool, dry area.
I followed these procedures:
- I took three hairs from my dog.
- I placed each of them in separate aip-lock bags.
- I poured water into two of the bags.
- I placed one of the bags with water in a dark and warm place
- I placed the other tow bags in the refrigerator.
- I let the bags sit for three weeks to allow the bacteria, if any, to grow
- Then I looked at the hairs with a microscope. I used the following materials to conduct my research:
- Three hairs from test subject (my dogs)
- Three zip-lock bags.
- Water
- Refrigerator
- Microscope (with slides)
Conclusion: Bacteria does not grow on dog hairs without any food present on the hairs.
Future question for investigation: How does the greenhouse effect actually happen?
