How Appealing

Tamara, Grade Four

My question is: "What happens to apple and potato skins in different liquids. I'm interested in this because I wanted to see how the skins changed. My predictions are that all the skins will rot equally as fast

Procedure: Put potato and apple skins in 3 different liquids and let them soak. Observe any changes and write changes on a chart. The liquids I chose are water, vinegar, and soy sauce.

Water Vinegar Soy Sauce
The skins rotted and water turned moldy The vinegar seemed to preserve the skins The skins turned black

Conclusion: The vinegar seemed to help keep the skins in good shape.

New questions. I wonder how these three substances will react with other food?
