UV BEADS TYLER
My topic is UV beads. The real name of UV beads are Ultra-Violet Detecting beads. I chose this topic to see how UV beads change.
The exact question we asked was, "How do UV beads change colors?" I wanted to see how UV beads change colors in the sun.
UV beads change colors in the rays of the sun. Sunlight which gives off Ultra Violet light is what helps UV beads change colors. Ultra Violet light is what gives people a suntan, and is light we cannot see.
What I did to answer the question was first to get my UV beads. Next I went outside to see how UV beads change color. Then I threw an UV bead in the grass to see if Chad could find the UV bead and he was able to find the bead since it has changed colors. Later I found UV beads don't change under ten inches of water. Finally I found by putting 30 SPF (sun protection factor) suntan lotion on an UV bead it did not change color in the suns ray.
I learned:
1. UV beads stand for Ultra Violet detecting beads
2. The beads change color in the ray of the sunbeam.
3. Ultra Violet light gives people suntans.
4. Beads do not change color inside a cup of water with 10" of water.
Something students in the future may want to see is how UV beads can be used and for what purpose. What SPF suntan lotion will stop UV beads from changing colors and what UV beads are made out of.
