Our topic is guinea pigs. I’m working with Timmy. We have discovered a lot about guinea pigs. We chose this topic because we find guinea pigs very interesting.
The question we tried to answer was, “how long does it takes a guinea pig to get through a maze with food at the end?” We thought of this question when we saw a guinea pig in a book. We think the guinea pig will go through the maze faster with the food at the end.
We have learned at lot about guinea pigs from all the books we read. Guinea pigs like to eat many different foods like radishes, greens, and hay. They can come in all different colors such as brown, white, black, gray, and many more colors. Guinea pigs are known for the range of vocal sounds. Guinea pigs are diurnal creatures. Diurnal means active during the day. Guinea pigs originally come from South America.
First I got wood and built a maze. Next I for some food to put at the end of the maze so that the guinea pig would go through the maze faster with food at the end. Finally I came to my conclusion.
I learned a lot about guinea pigs after studying and researching these interesting creatures. I learned that it takes a guinea pig 4 minutes 5 seconds to go though the maze without food at the end and it takes 1 minute 30 seconds with food. I learned that guinea pigs go through the maze faster with food at end.
If I had more time to research I would try to do a lot of other of experiments. Some of the other students could try to see if a guinea pig could go through a maze blind fold with food at the end. Also they could see how much a guinea pig weighs.
