Crystals

Nick, Jesse, Ryan, and Jordan

We are going to talk about crystals. We chose this topic because we wanted to know how crystals grow?

Will the crystals grow faster with more water or less water? We thought of this question when we made a mistake and added too much water to our experiment.

Our hypothesis was that the crystals would grow better with the one with less water because we followed the recipe. We got our recipe from a book.

We answered our question by making crystals and watching them grow. The crystals made with more water grew better than the crystals with less. The ones with more water grew faster and grew more crystals than the ones with less water. When we began the one with more water had instant results. The one with less water took one whole week for results.

These are some things we learned. Crystals take about a week to grow. The bowl with more water grew faster than the bowl with less water. We learned that even when we mess up we might get better results.

Our new question is “Are crystals living things?”
