Which Battery Lasts the Longest?

The topic of my project is to find out which battery will last the longest out of four different types of batteries. The types of batteries that I tested are: Heavy Duty, Toshiba, Energizer, and Duracell. I chose this topic because I thought it would be interesting and I would find our which battery is the best one to buy.

I wanted to find out which battery would last the longest. I thought of this question because my flashlight didn’t work and I needed to buy new batteries for it. In addition, I have a lot of toys that need batteries, so I want to know which one would last the longest.

The background information that I used for this project was doing my own research on which battery would last the longest. I also collected research with the book “batteries and Magnets”. I found out what was inside of a battery and how batteries work.

First, I bought for different types of batteries. Next, I put them in four tap lights. Later, I turned on each light for and hour each day until each of the lights died. Finally, I found out which battery lasted the longest.

The fact that I discovered from my research was that the Energizer battery lasted the longest. Also, I discovered that the Toshiba brand battery lasted the least amount of time. I learned to buy the Energizer brand when I need new batteries.

One thing that students could try next year is to investigate the cost of each brand of battery. For instance, the Energizer battery costs about for times as much as the Heavy Duty Battery. However, the Energizer battery did not last four times as long as the Heavy Duty battery. In conclusion, Energizer batteries lasted the longest but might not be the best value for your money.
