Eye Color

My topic for KIC is eye color. I think it is a great topic because my eye color is green and that is my favorite color. But my friend's eyes are brown and that is not his favorite color.

My question is "Do people tend to like their eye color as their favorite color?"! think the KIC committee chose my group to present because they thought it would be a great presentation, and I think the same exact thing.

Eyes are used in many ways. The main thing they are used foris seeing. People have to wear glasses, and some people wear contacts. All the other people's eyes are just fine. People have different color eyes, such as green, blue, brown, and hazel. I never saw anyone with a different eye color. Some people can be nearsighted, which means you can only see clearly when you don't look far away. Some people can be farsighted, which means you can only see clearly when you do look far away. Some people can be blind."Blind" means you totally cannot see. Every blind person that can read, read by using brail. "Brail" is tiny little bumps substituting letters. Blind people run their fingers over the bumps to read it. As you see, people have totally different eyes.

To answer my question I first serveyed the whole 5th grade on what their eye color is and if it's their favorite color or not. Then I went to the 4th grade and did the same thing. Then I got all the data together and found the percenteges. The I made the posters and planned the presentation.

A fact that I found is that more people dislike their eye color. Another fact is that there is a big difference between being nearsighted, farsighted, and astigmatism.

A suggestion for next year's students is to find out how many different eye colors there are. Another suggestion is to do research on how big everyone's eyes are. I think eye color was a great topic.
