Participants in this session
will learn about the purposes and distinctive characteristics of formal
and informal scientists' meetings. After viewing video clips of
classroom practices, examining student work samples, and trying out
both types of scientists' meetings, participants will draft plans for
embedding meetings in their own classrooms and schools. The session is
intended for elementary classroom teachers, instructional coaches,
content specialists, administrators, and teacher educators.
