Connecting Science and Literacy in a World of Standards, Frameworks, and Testing et al

This working session will set a stage for discussion among participants
on ways to move towards an authentic connection between science and
literacy in a world of content-oriented standards and high-stakes
accountability. A brief presentation will begin to define some of the
barriers and constraints as well as the possibilities these present for
linking inquiry-based science and meaningful literacy. Remarks will be
followed by small- and large-group discussion and debate on the nature
of successful approaches and strategies.
